Bulletin 73 summarizes Dr. Wayne Martin's 50 years of investigation of the Dunkard Group. These rocks have been studied for more than 100 years and their age is still controversial. This bulletin does not resolve the age controversy but discusses previous studies and provides information on lithofacies (mudstone, shale, sandstone, limestone, coal); clastic-rock composition and petrology; fossils; and depositional environments.
